This is fabulous news but I just have to wonder why all the secrecy and hem-hawing about the traditional Mass? Can't our pope just come out and say it? I was a young girl when I experienced the Vatican II changes. Even as a child I noticed the irreverence creep into the Masses and bit by bit watched as the liturgy was watered down and many times changed by the ad-libs of the priest. I pray that the traditonal Mass in Latin makes a comeback. I read once that Satan detests Latin. The reason being that Latin is a dead language and cannot be manipulated as the English language can. We need the Latin Mass desperately in our pagan times. Hope the rumors are true!

Is it really plausible for each parish to have the extraordinary form of the roman rite an option? Wouldn't it be better to set up TLM communities in each diocese and then branch out as the demand increases?
