I find Father Thomas Reese's comments in the Chicago Tribune article totally out of line and not surprising. For those who don't know or who don't remember....Father Reese used to be an editor at America magazine and spoke out against Pope Benedict's election on the NBC Nightly news on the day Cardinal Ratzinger was elected Pope. Father Reese is not an authoritative figure on why so many young people are attracted to the Latin Trinidine Mass. Msgr Schmitz at the Institute of Christ the King on the other hand is an authoritative figure on the subject and should have been contacted by the Chicago Tribune for the article. sj

And Fr. Reese was relieved of his position following the election of the Holy Father.

Fr. Reese's mouth has runneth over all weekend long about the Summorum Pontificum. He was quoted again today in a Reuters article ( not the one currently on this site ) and made it sound like all of the American priests are uneducated and totally helpless. (rolling eyes) Fr. Reese does not speak for the majority of American Catholics and yet these news organizations don't seem to understand that.
