He also relays an ominous memo from the Bp. of Steubenville in which he states "There will be no public celebration of the pre-Vatican II rites until I am assured that they can be celebrated well and in accord with Summorum Pontificum’s terms." How right you are about things in Ireland.No statement has been forthcoming from the Bishops Conference.No individual bishop has had a word to say.Five diocesan bishops have over the years refused permission for Mass in the extraordinary rite.One of them, the bishop of Dromore, has now relented. Four,namely the bishops of Kerry, Clonfert, Cloyne and Ossory obdurately persist in their attitude. Can't wait for the 14th September.
